Today we will talk about
Skin Care for men in their 30s and 40s 🙌
Currently, among men in their 20s and 30s, about 50~60% of them have a skincare routine/take care of their skin.
However, for those in their 40s and above, the number of people doing so are less than 40%.
Dryness is a great enemy against your skin!!!
Men have 1/3 the moisture of what women have!
Because of that dryness, men's skin produces 3 times the amount of sebum to protect itself from dryness!
This is the source of the odors!
And when you reach your 30s~40s, the skin damage will accumulate.
This is due to slower skin turnover (renewal of the skin cells).
(💡 Turnover refers to the cycle from when the skin (cells) regenerates to when it peels off.)
The turnover for healthy skin in your 20s is about 28 Days!
The speed of skin turnover slows down with age,
and it is said that the turnover in your 40s takes about 55 Days💦
When your skin starts to turn over at a slower rate,
melanin pigments caused by UV damage remain in the skin,
which causes dark spots and wrinkles to form.
In order to help prevent the slowing down of your skin's turnover rate,
it is extremely important to moisturise your skin and have sufficient UV protection.
Also, it is generally said that this will increase in your 40s:
it is a substance that causes the "aging odor", due to increased "reactive oxygen",
which causes sebum to oxidise and creates an unpleasant odor that is secreted from the skin🙌💦
As a countermeasure,
① Improve your turnover rate by getting good quality deep sleep every night!
② Thorouhgly cleanse the areas of the face and neck!
③ Use age-appropriate aging care products,
that moisturises not only the outer surface of your skin, but reaches well into the deeper layers of the skin (Stratum Corneum)
(If you find it troublesome to use a variety of different products, we recommend the "all-in-one" type of products🙌)
Men should also take good care of their skin, and achieve youthful skin(^^)
There is a product that I highly recommend at our Japanese stores, however we do not have it in Singapore yet.
